Still here

Hi! no photos right now, but I am still alive! It's been a crazy week again staying up until 3 am working to get ready for my upcoming events and store orders. Also I have good news: Mud and Metal in Hampden Baltimore will be housing a collection of my work! I'm super excited about that and you can look for it there in about a months time. I have way more updates but I don't have time right now! I'm staying downtown this weekend for a wedding and sightseeing so I'll try my best and take some photos. Till then!

Shop update!

Hello! I finally got an air conditioner in the studio so I'm a lot cooler while I'm working on the shop. As you can see, I have almost everything ready, and hopefully the shop will be live this weekend! In other exciting news, my little bird pendants and some bracelets will be featured in a great brick and mortar shop here in Baltimore very soon. I'll have the details when everything is set.  hope everyone is staying cool!

Owlita Earrings!

I'm pretty busy this week taking care of all the things I neglected during my last 2 months of shows,  (i.e house cleaning, studio cleaning, business paperwork...) but I wanted to post real quick about these AMAZING Prairie Pheasant earrings that I've been coveting and now am a proud owner of! They are made by Owlita and are the two things I love: super long, and super lightweight! (and 14k gold to top it off)  Kirk surprised me with this pair pictured last night and I just about died. Her jewelry was featured on American Idol and is going to be in a Sex and the City episode soon. Please check her things out, they are otherworldly:

Bye for now!

Garden Fresh Dinner

Tonight I fixed the first dish that used vegetables from the garden! I was so excited. The baby spinach was ready so I made tomato and spinach toasts which are super healthy, super delicious, and quick! The fresh spinach tasted so much better than what I buy at the store!

Here is my recipe if you want to try it sometime:

Tomato and Spinach Toast

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sliced grape tomatoes
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 2 cups baby spinach
- Garlic (however much you like!)
-Garlic salt
- 2 tbls. butter (non-dairy for me)
-Italian herbs for taste
- 4 pieces of toast

Directions:

1) saute onion and garlic with butter on medium high heat until onions begin to caramelize.

2) Add tomatoes and garlic salt,  cook on medium heat for 3 - 4 min.

3) Toss in spinach and stir/ saute for another 3 min or until spinach shrinks and becomes  dark green.

4) Divide into four and serve hot over crisp toast. Enjoy!

Garden Update!

Just went to the opening of the Towson Farmers Market with my wonderful mother today, we got berries! I was glad we didn't miss them this year. Also just wanted to post photos of the veggie garden as of today. As you can see, it's coming along rather wildly but nicely. I'm going to stake the sugar snaps tomorrow because they are growing into themselves (oops).

Other than that, I'm steaming ahead with the shop preparations. So very many photos to sort and crop. It's getting there slowly, I have about 30 items of 50 finished.  Also I was asked to show my work at Towson Universities Asian Arts Gallery for their Many Moons Festival this Fall, so look for me there in September! I'll keep you updated as always. I hope everyone can get outside today and enjoy the breeze!

Nice Commercial Design

So I was up early this morning working on the Shop and I'm constantly listening/ watching the world news on Aljazeera. I sometimes stumble on some great commercials during my work. Here is one that I especially love. (just for the cinematic value, not for what it stands for especially) Here is the link for the videos since I couldn't embed it!

Shop Photos

Such a nice breeze is coming in through the studio window today! I almost feel bad about being inside. But, since I just received the new packaging materials for the shop yesterday night, I've been working hard to get everything ready. The top photo is the cover for the earring section in my wholesale book! The bottom is my hand painted packaging. The shop will be open soon...

Art In the Park Recap

I forgot to do my recap yesterday because I was celebrating with Kirk our belated 1st year wedding anniversary! The cake from the freezer was not as good as I had expected :) However, Art in the Park was much better than I had expected! Saturday was such a wonderful way to end my three show stint. Fairly good weather, kindest people, and excellent art. I was so pleased with how this show went. I got to chat with so many people with such a great appreciation for artists and their work. Thanks again to everyone who stopped by to support me!
Also, I had a gallery offer extended to me so I'll let you know what happens with that later on! For this week I'm working on the shop, I'm about 1/2 way finished listing items and soon it will be fully functional! I'll list the link and post about it here.

Enjoy this wonderful Monday!

Tired but Happy

Hooray! I'm exhausted but Art in the Park was such a lovely place to be today. I'll be posting a full recap with photos tomorrow. Three shows in a row was exciting but truly exhausting. I'm taking a few days to give the house a full and thorough cleaning, bake some dairy free goodies, and get some good sleep! Thank you everyone who gave such encouraging words to me today!

Custom Work

Two days to go before Art in the Park! Somehow I was able to find time to complete three commissioned pieces. Two from my Stone Effect series of a chickadee and an Iris. The other is a slider which I really love. It's a new design and I will have a select few up for sale at this weekends show.

I'm also working on a bridal set for a wedding in July. Here is the design board for the piece which I'll be turning into reality this Sunday. It's kind of a throw back to my old style of work with purely gemstones.

Wooden Bird

So I'm into the last week of my crazy three-shows-in-a-row spree. I won't deny that I'm looking forward to next week for a bit of respite. However, it really has pushed me in  a way that I think is rather healthy, at least from an artistic stand point. They say that this type of stress, once in a while, is good for your brain. Weather or not that is true, I'm just happy for the feeling of purpose and direction these past three weeks have given me.

Aside from working for these three shows, I've slowly been preparing to open my new website and online stores! Right now I'm awaiting confirmation from 1000 Markets for the green light to open my shop. I'm very excited and I hope you all are as well. I'll post here when I hear back!

Sowebo Recap

Hello! I hope everyone enjoyed their extended weekends! Just wanted to share some photos of Sowebo Fest with you all! This was such an interesting Show, It had such a diverse mix of vendors, people, and music that we deemed it unlike anything we've done before. The weather was fantastic by the way which is almost unheard of for outdoor shows, so that was a great blessing! I got to meet a lot of other artists and I was happy to get to chat with so many enthusiastic customers! Thanks everyone for making Sowebo Fest really fun!
