Garden Update: Carrots and tomatoes

Things have been getting busy around here again! Artscape is looming closer and closer and it's finally starting to feel real: I have so very much production work to finish!

We've been getting some nice sunny days recently and the garden has grown by leaps and bounds. Out of the 3 black skinned watermelon, 2 have set nicely as well as my two sanjaku (Japanese cucumbers). They are sending out little tendrils and climbing out of my raised bed.

I harvested a small section of carrots today that I planted back in April, they are more of a baby type organic carrot and are super sweet! I also for the first time have saved seed from an organic lettuce crop that went out a bit earlier than I had expected (last photo). I'm excited to try planting these seeds once more in a few days.

Hope you all are doing grand!

Update

new Marie rose earrings

Trying new photos, something I need to work on badly

Since Art in the Park,  my life has been fairly relaxing for once.  We went to Hon Fest this weekend and had a great time browsing through the wild and wacky atmosphere. Picked out some gifts for people and finally had a chance to pop into Trohv (formerly Red Tree) since it's name change.  I'm cleaning my studio, again, and I'm currently undertaking some much needed home improvements. I've also started very light planning for my second trip to Japan this Spring.

In other news, the chickens are growing tail feathers right now :) they are getting bigger by the hour it seems, and eating us out of house and home! As for the garden, the tomatoes are enormous and most of my Japanese vegetables are well on their way! I'm really excited for the shishigatani (Japanese pumpkin) and my expensive Hokkaido black skinned watermelon. I have beans growing all over the place, and my newest additions from the Farmers market are chocolate mint and rosemary (we had rosemary potatoes the other night, mmmmm!)
