First Sunday Arts Festival in Annapolis: August 3rd on Historic West Street
Over 100 Artists and Crafters
Music, Dance, and Performances
Summer
is a prime season for visits to Historic Downtown Annapolis and is the
perfect time for taking in the First Sunday Arts Festival with its many
cafes and shops on West Street. The line up of free events for the day
is a well-rounded smorgasbord of art-related fun for the whole family
with over 100 fine artists and crafters lining the streets. These local
and regional artists will be exhibiting silkscreen, pottery, hand blown
and fused glass, nautical paintings and photography, wood turnings,
iron works, jewelry, books, face paintings, henna tattoos, painted
ostrich eggs and more. One of the great things about shopping at First
Sunday Arts is meeting the artisans, learning their stories and feeling
their passion about the unique items they create. The date is Sunday,
August 3 from 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm.
Come
early and enjoy the soothing music of guitarist Jonathan Stone at 49
West Coffeehouse or take in a Bloody Mary at Stan and Joe's. Meander
through the many shops such as The Annapolis Collection Gallery, devoted
to the display of the Annapolis master painters who have received
recognition for their artistic talents. And, at the end of the day, the
festival continues with steel drums by The Geckos on the patio of
Ramshead Tavern. Dogs are welcome, too! Life is good on West Street!
August's sponsors are: Remodel USA, Leaf Filter Gutter Guards, Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing, and Nu Look Home Design.
There
will be two more opportunities to enjoy First Sunday activities in
2014: September 7 and October 5. For more information, visit www.firstsundayarts.com
