ALS Boutique This Weekend!

(an excerpt from my feature on the ALS Boutique FB page)

This weekend marks the end of my 2014 show season! If you want to grab some holiday gifts before the rush, you can find me this Saturday down at Roland Park's Holiday Fair from 10am -  4pm.

On Sunday I will be showing at the ALS Artisan Boutique at the Sheraton in Annapolis from 10am - 5pm. I've done this show for a few years now and I can't stress enough how wonderful this show is! There is a wide variety of wonderful Artists all who make amazing art and beautiful products. On top of that, the show raises money for ALS and I'm very proud to be a participating Artist again this year. Please come out and support local art, local business, and of course the ALS cause!

You can check out their Facebook page for more information on the cause and  the show here!

First Sunday Arts Festival : Last show!

This Sunday is my last showing at the Annapolis First Sunday's Art Festival! It's supposed to be great weather so if you are in the area, come out and enjoy lovely Annapolis by the water and perhaps browse for some early holiday gifts? :)  I'll be located on West Street this time. See you there! Also check out my website for more upcoming shows this fall/winter season.

First Sunday Arts Festival in Annapolis: October 5th
on Historic West Street
Over 100 fine artists and crafters as well as entertainers and musicians will put their talents on display when First Sunday Arts Festival holds its final street festival of the 2014 season on Sunday, October 5th from 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm on historic West Street in downtown Annapolis.
In addition to a plethora of local and regional artists, photographers, and woodcrafters whose original work --- as with all exhibitors --- is for purchase, the festival displays arts and crafts of all genres to make a visit even more enjoyable:  fiber art; pottery; glass; metal; printmaking, sculpture.  And, as Annapolis is "the sailing capital of the nation," visitors can be assured there will be a full slate of artists and crafters displaying nautical paintings, decorative items, and hand-forged jewelry. There's face-painting for the children, and dogs are welcome, too!
Come early and enjoy the soothing music of guitarist Jonathan Stone at 49 West Coffeehouse or take in a Bloody Mary at Stan and Joe's. Meander through the many shops such as The Annapolis Collection Gallery, devoted to the display of the Annapolis master painters who have received recognition for their artistic talents. Enjoy lunch and a drink at one of the outdoor cafes set up in the street.  And, at the end of the day, the festival continues on the patio of Ramshead Tavern.
October's sponsors are:  Evolve Medical Clinics, Leaf Filter Gutter Guards, Kitchen Savers, Long Fence, and Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing.
The continued growth of the First Sunday Arts Festivals is reflected in the increasing strength and quality of the exhibitors and performers as well as the thousands of visitors who have come together to make each Sunday a success.   Visit www.firstsundayarts.com for information for the forthcoming 2015 season.

MD Home and Garden Tickets

Hey everyone! I will be showing my work at the MD Fall Home and Holiday show on October 17-19 at the Timonium Fair grounds.

Like last year, I have about 40 free tickets to give away if anyone is interested in going! It saves you the $6 admission price! If anyone wants them simply e-mail me your mailing address and the number of tickets you want and I will send them to you for free! I have a limited number of these tickets so I will send them out until they are gone! My e-mail: info@sunahjewelry.com

This year there is a new rule that we can't give these free passes out to our customers while we are in the show so if you want one you must contact me before the show starts!

It sounds like they are trying to mix things up this year since they changed the name of the show to Home and Holiday instead of Home and Garden. I saw some interesting things on the flyer that looked new including a frisbee dog show and a showcase of a sustainable Tiny House. I'm really looking forward to participating this year, hope to see you there!

First Sunday Arts Festival in Annapolis:   August 3rd on Historic West Street
Over 100 Artists and Crafters
Music, Dance, and Performances

Summer is a prime season for visits to Historic Downtown Annapolis and is the perfect time for taking in the First Sunday Arts Festival with its many cafes and shops on West Street.   The line up of free events for the day is a well-rounded smorgasbord of art-related fun for the whole family with over 100 fine artists and crafters lining the streets.  These local and regional artists will be exhibiting silkscreen, pottery, hand blown and fused glass, nautical paintings and photography, wood turnings, iron works, jewelry, books, face paintings, henna tattoos, painted ostrich eggs and more. One of the great things about shopping at First Sunday Arts is meeting the artisans, learning their stories and feeling their passion about the unique items they create.  The date is Sunday, August 3 from 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm.

And, at the end of the day, the festival continues with steel drums by The Geckos on the patio of Ramshead Tavern.  Dogs are welcome, too!  Life is good on West Street!

August's sponsors are:  Remodel USA, Leaf Filter Gutter Guards, Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing, and Nu Look Home Design.

Wild Encounters

In honor of the full moon tonight we travelled to the  PA Wolf Sanctuary.

Did you know that wolves like hot dogs? Well they love them.

We got up close and personal with 5 different wolf packs and got to experience what life in a pack is really like.

The caretakers were so knowledgable and it's clear how passionate they are about these amazing creatures. We learned so many things I never knew about wolves. For one thing, they don't howl at the moon :)

I highly recommend visiting if you get a chance. It's rare to be so close to any wild animal let alone a wolf pack. It's also a great way to support the needs of this amazing rescue.
