In love

It's been a while! But I'm back and out of my rut from yester-posts. :) It's been a busy week including tearing apart my living room, treasure hunting, seeing friends, baking pies, changing habits, lots of excercise and of course spending a good deal of time in the studio. Oh also I've finally jumped on the bandwagon that is instagram so if your wish is to see too many photos of my cats, food and me posing with both please feel free to follow along. find me under: Sunahblairjewelry.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a few things I've added to my Awesome!/ hahaha list:

 1)

 This is so cool, it looks like sunlight right? Well it's not! It's actually an installation by artist Daniel Rybakken in a Stockholm office building. The building had no real daylight so he used LED lighting behind wall panels to create this awesome illusion. Awesome!

I've recently found and fallen in love with the website, This Japanese Life, which is written by a New England expat in Japan. His writing is insightful and hilarious and most of all interesting. One of my favorite posts I've read so far is: On Forgetting your Umbrella in Japan. Have a read!

If you know anything about Kirk and I, you know how much we adore Ikea kitchens.  Obviously we are not alone, I stumbled upon this video a few days ago and it just made me laugh. Also Kirk and I recently reread this funny article called Ode to the Ikea Cabinet. This also made me laugh...again. So if you want to pay homage to the affordability and versatility that is the Ikea kitchen, read and watch!

I Love Etsy for too many reasons. Here is a treasury I made that sums up my feelings pretty well! Feel free to check it out, and if you aren't a member of Etsy, what are you waiting for?

Also, as you may have noticed, I've finally created a Facebook page for the business! So you can "like it" if you feel like it. (pun so intended)

I'm going to do this, so should you!

 Just signed up to be part of this years Art House Co Op photo mobile. The project is to interpret one of the many themes (I chose "27 ways to say...")  provided on the website through 27 photos. When you sign up, Art House sends you a disposable camera and then you're set free to point and shoot!  You send the camera back once you're finished and the photos will be compiled on a coast to coast touring exhibition.  It's really an interesting way for people to connect and share their perspective, and will be an even more interesting  exhibition to view.  

I especially think this is a refreshing creativity exercise that many Artists could learn from. Sometimes a different perspective  is all it takes to create masterpieces. So go check it out!

Holiday Cards!

Here is a preview of some of the AMAZING Holiday cards artist Caitlin Johns has created for our upcoming shows! They will be making their debut first at the Home Show this weekend. Super excited! 

I think my favorite is the bunny and the turtle :) so cute!

Things are looking good around here, I'm getting in the holiday mood by decorating the walls with snowflakes and snow white pinwheels! It's going to be a fun weekend, hope to see you all there!

Little Bird Falls in Love Collaboration

One of the most exciting things about being an artist is being able to meet other artists and share our ideas and talents. You just never know what will be created. I'm super excited to share a collaboration that amazingly talented artist, teacher, and friend, Caitlin Johns has created for Sun Ah Blair Jewelry.

 Caitlin has an  uncanny knack for making things just plain adorable, so it was only natural for her to collaborate with my little bird pendants which so many people label as "so cute!" Caitlin has her degree in Art Education from Towson University and teaches children of all ages the joy of creativity. She is amazing in just about every medium, but painting is her main love.

I'm also very excited to announce that she has graciously decided to create a line of holiday cards for my upcoming shows! You will be able to purchase them at the Holiday home Show and all of my shows through December. I will share preview photos when they are ready.

Root and Sky

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you all know about a friend of mine who makes the most amazing body care products. Her line is called Liquid Ember and it is based on the ancient Indian concept of ayurveda or the science of life, to help create a healthy balance in your mind-body connection. I've had the pleasure of testing out her products at a recent show and I was so impressed! She has put so much effort, research and love into her product line and it really shows. Also just as a small update, I've applied for all of my Fall/Winter shows and I have managed to squeeze in a date for the annual Home Show this year with one exciting change: We'll be holding it at the new house this year! So mark your calendars for the weekend of November 6-7.  (Please e-mail me if you would rather receive an e-mail invite to save the trees!!)

 I'll be in Philly tomorrow checking out some great artsy shops (and of course China Town) and I'll  have  some photo updates when I get back!

Owlita Earrings!

I'm pretty busy this week taking care of all the things I neglected during my last 2 months of shows,  (i.e house cleaning, studio cleaning, business paperwork...) but I wanted to post real quick about these AMAZING Prairie Pheasant earrings that I've been coveting and now am a proud owner of! They are made by Owlita and are the two things I love: super long, and super lightweight! (and 14k gold to top it off)  Kirk surprised me with this pair pictured last night and I just about died.
