Branching out

Playing around with some new ideas today. I've been branching out a bit and going beyond using all fabric patterns. I think it's good to work outside of your normal materials sometimes. I feel like it can open new pathways one didn't originally see and enables you to go further when you return to your work. Or something like that :) anyway, here are some photos of what I worked on!

I've been playing around again with the little hearts design I have. I was wanting to create something a bit larger and less "floral" looking than my previous designs that incorporate this little guy. So I ended up keeping it super simple and I think I've found what I was looking for:

Back to Basics

Spent a ton of time on this dreary monday just brainstorming and sketching. I actually haven't just sat and sketched for a long time and I had forgotten how great it is for calming the mind. I had a great explosion of new ideas as well! I have some photos of what came out of all these sketches but I'll wait to show them at a later time :)
