Everyday Lovely

I don't have much time today, but here is a new bracelet design that I'm really loving! It uses my new beads strung onto soft leather and antique brass. A very lovely everyday piece.

Now I am going over to tidy up my space at the MD Home and Garden show for a few hours next, then waking up early to work the show tomorrow morning!

Fan Page?

Hope everyone had a great Halloween and a smooth transition into Daylight Savings! I used my extra hour to list a bunch of new beads in the Gem Shop! What did you do?  I don't have much time today but I just wanted to see what people thought about this idea: 

Would creating a Facebook fan page for Appus Design be useful to people? I'd use it to list my upcoming events, some photos of my work, and communicate with people faster. What do you all think?

New Beads!

It's like Christmas here today! I finally got my new shipment of sparkling new supplies. Be sure to check out the Shop this week as I'll be listing some of these new beauties! I have a whole bunch of ENORMOUS faceted onion cut gems this time around. I'm not going to lie, they are to die for. Vibrant Amethyst, Mystic Topaz, Blue Mystic quartz, Rock crystal just to name a few! You can e-mail me as well if you are interested in any of these lovely gemstones. I'm so excited to get to work with these!

As seen in the Studio

Good Morning! I finished cleaning out the studio for the  10000000th time last night! What a chore! It was worth it though because now I feel like I can get 10x the amount of work done. The photo up top is a neat formation of melted plastic from  the drills friction heating up enough to melt the shavings coming off the bead. I thought it was rather pretty, like an ice formation.  The other photo is the strand of HUGE sparkling Pyrite nuggets that I'm excited to work with today!  All new work will be presented at the Fall Home Show!

I just found a new site that looks very very promising! Mintd is a very Etsy esque beginner of a selling site for up and coming artisans of all kinds. It is by no means as user friendly as Etsy but it is much cheaper by comparison, it is only $50 a year to list 50 items or free for the first 3 items, and more respectably for more items. I was just looking and they seem to have a really good following so far and is something I will be joining in the next few months. It is very exciting to see new selling venues for artists! Too bad I can't buy stock in Mintd, I have a feeling it will be growing rapidly in the next few years!
