Just wanted to share the finished products from yesterday's pieces! I think they came out beautifully. I especially love the set crystals in the earrings, that was a last minute design choice that I'm happy I went with!

Branching out
Playing around with some new ideas today. I've been branching out a bit and going beyond using all fabric patterns. I think it's good to work outside of your normal materials sometimes. I feel like it can open new pathways one didn't originally see and enables you to go further when you return to your work. Or something like that :) anyway, here are some photos of what I worked on!

Organize your jewelry in style!
Let me tell you a little story about myself: I love jewelry. When I say love, that means a lot. and when I say a lot, that means it's everywhere. As in all over every surface that's flat in the bedroom and sprawling out onto the occasional kitchen counter. And on weekends, it could very well be in the car, my purse, and the coffee table. I mean to organize it always, and I always mean well. However, it's such a daunting task. It's like trying to stuff a cat into a backpack: sounds easy, but it's soooo not. So in my latest attempt to stuff the cat into the backpack, I came across some pretty amazing items that made me think there may still be hope for me and other jewelry-holics anonymous. I present to you my findings:
Pretty and amazing right? Makes you kind of want to organize like... RIGHT NOW! :) right?

Thrift store find
Just had to share this little mirrored tray I salvaged from my local good will store the other day. I had been looking for something ornate to off set the mainly hard lines in our mostly-modern living room. I must brag a bit, I bought this for a devastating $4!! I'm so glad I popped into the thrift instead of purchasing the same one on eBay ($34.00) I love it so much, it's perfect for keeping those little things look more organized plus it gives off an old Hollywood flair. What thrift store finds do you cherish?

Japanese pita maker
First of all, Happy Fathers day! And secondly here is a demo of my little pita maker I picked up at the Japanese grocery store in NY! I think you can buy them at American grocery stores and possibly Target as well?
It's so adorable and easy to use. I just chopped up cucumbers and pickles and mixed in some chipotle mayonnaise then you simply spoon the mixture into the mold on top of the bread, place the second piece of bread on top, then press the mold into the sandwich. Viola! Cute little pocket sandwiches!

How to wear it
I thought I would start sharing some photos of how I wear my work. Perhaps it will inspire you, or not :) I think it's easier to see how something looks in real life so here is how I like to wear the vintage Miya Open Circle Necklace on a casual day.
This color scheme is so versatile you can wear it with just about any color. However, I think olive tones and any darker brown colors work really well to bring out the subtle colors that make this necklace shine. Another fun thing about this piece is the fact that both gold and silver metals work well with it. You can find this plus a lot of other colors in the shop!

New in the Shop!
Ohhhhh! Ahhhh!!! New and pretty things are up in the shop! I had wanted to list like 60 new items today and as always, grossly underestimated how long it takes to do everything. Thus I managed to list maybe 6? hahaha! What things does your mind blow out of proportion? Also, another new-and-improved is our International shipping! We are now able to ship anywhere in the big ol' world. Yay!

Up up and away!
My head has been so full of new ideas lately I can hardly sleep! I'm currently working on launching a new collection of work and I'm super excited about it! It's full of Tokyo street style pop and is more pastel more crazy, more fun than anything I've worked on previously. It's just so much fun! So you can look forward to that in the near future :) here is a tiny tiny sneak peak at one of the pins that will be part of this new collection. Its back to work for me! Trying to finish my orders and fill up a box to ship to a gallery in NY! Busy busy busy! Ahhhhhh!!!

First of the year
Beans! Some of the best I've grown thus far too! I think I'm going to use them in a tempura dish tomorrow night. There are also flowers on the cucumber plant so just a bit longer to wait! I love garden fresh food :)
