Something New
Wanted to share a little preview of some new holiday ornaments and decor I've been working on! I was really surprised how much I like working with the larger tiles of clay. This holiday is going to be colorful and bright!

Clean up
So we were pretty lucky with the hurricane this time around. Woke up to lots of debris on the lawn but other than that, nothing too dire. Since it's still pretty nasty out, I've been using this indoor time to ready my studio for the holiday rush. Cleaning off surfaces and organizing clay parts and pieces. It seems like it takes 2 minutes to destroy a clean place that took 2 hour to clean... My ultimate goal is to have such an organized space that it never gets messy. Hahahaha I know, I know, just let me dream :)
I've also been sketching a lot lately and as a result have come up with some pretty holiday ideas! I'm going to try and put some of these into reality this afternoon.
Hope you all stayed dry and safe during this storm!

Things I'm currently loving: home design
I've had a few days of normality after the home and garden show, and I'm doing what I always do: perusing home design products! I'm in the market for a new chair for our living room, but while I was on the hunt, these other lovely items caught my eye.

Update in photos
I'm exhausted! Today l I felt like I talked non stop all day. I'm currently drinking some hot tea and finally eating a little something since I didn't have the chance all during the show. One more day to go! :) here are a few shots from today.

Setup time
Have a few minutes before I start setup, it's always strange seeing the floor plan before everyone moves in for the weekend.

Update in photos
Today's photos are a study of disorganization and new work. My tiny studio is very cramped at the moment. It's times like these that I say to myself, " why didn't I buy those ikea shelving units?? "
The floor is of utmost importance to me. No matter how many tables I may have, the floor is where I end up and where my work spreads out. The closer a show deadline creeps up, the less floor space there seems to be. So at this current time: 21 hours until setup, I have about 1 sq foot of floor space left :)

Insanity Ensures Creativity
Not sure if I mentioned it yet, but I decided to take on a double Saturday show this weekend. Preparing for a single show is quite taxing in and of itself, but two requires some serious battle planning. Plus otherworldly amounts of coffee and extremely small amounts of sleep.
Why did I decide to do this? Well two reasons: 1) I love coffee
2) what was the question?
So this Weekend you can find me at the MD Fall Home and Garden and the Cockeysville Fall Festival which I might mention is an event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The one great thing about a double show is that it pushes you to get creative. Also the added pressure has in years past, helped me to think outside my design boundaries and produce some interesting work.

First day recap
Wow! So much fun in Fells today! The weather was great, people were super friendly and I even had some wonderful friends drop by! Thanks for a great first day! I was so busy during the show I didn't sit down for more than a half hour total. You know it's been a good day when you're starving and exhausted at the end :)
Some of my favorite moments from today include:
- A man from Seattle telling me to move out West.
- two girls who bought matching friendship bracelets ( so adorable!!)
- meeting another jeweler who had worked at a Michaels craft store (some funny stories shared)
- enjoying conversation with a fully face painted lady from Tokyo.
- being recognized on the street by one of my blog followers, unexpected and kind of awesome! I almost felt famous lol :)
Tomorrow it is supposed to rain, but I guess I don't really care :)
